The George & Dragon Pub Garden Expansion

On Friday 25th April, we were pleased to unveil our expanded outdoor space to the public for the first time, kicking off a weekend-long celebration in the sun with patrons both local and further afield enjoying some great food and drink, alongside a host of activities.

This has all been part of our combined efforts to bring The George & Dragon into a new era, while keeping it the community-based pub that locals know and love. We've expanded the outside area backing onto a scenic field view, added plenty of new comfortable seating (with blankets and cushions available), and added some further greenery and lighting to the space.

And we're not done yet! The space will continue to see updates over the coming weeks including re-locating our large gas storage tanks, extending the existing festoon lighting and further fine-tunings to the landscape.

To date, we've invested over £20,000 into this garden project, which we're confident will help see The George & Dragon shift from being seen as a 'winter pub', to a destination for sunny days and long evenings during the warmer months - truly a pub for all seasons.

When Siren took over ownership of the pub in 2021, the site was given a new lease of life with nearly £250,000 of investment over a series of works including our kitchen, inside seating areas, toilets, car park and the garden. We're pleased to continue this investment with the new outside-space expansion and refurbishment, and look forward to seeing patrons enjoy the space all year round.
