  • General Manager (Busy Central Reading Bar)

    Our flagship Reading centre bar has been open just over one year and has been incredible!

    Our current general manager Paul and his management team have been with us since the opening! Paul is moving on in October to start his new life ahead of a competition win earlier this year!

    We are on the hunt for an experienced GM to take our bar to the next level, growing the sales and networking with groups in the local area.

    The salary range includes a base salary and tronc.

    About us

    Siren Craft Brew is an ambitious, fast-growing and independent brewery that has been in production since early 2013. Since brewing commenced, we’ve picked up numerous awards including Best Brewery in England 2014 (Ratebeer) and Champion Beer of Britain in 2018 (CAMRA).

    Our hospitality department also consists of our brewery tap yard and country pub, The George and Dragon, Swallowfield. We pride ourselves on serving fantastic beers and fresh food at both our venues whilst giving our general managers full autonomy!

    The Job

    Starting on 29th September 2025!

    The Siren Bar is the frontline of what we do, serving brewery-fresh beer and running some of the most exciting events in the beer scene. We envisage this role evolving over time with opportunities for key involvement in future projects.


    Responsibilities

    Day-to-day running of the Siren Bar and open/close procedures
    Recruit, manage and grow a dedicated team including training and shift-planning
    Oversee cellar maintenance and quality standards
    Manage stock and commercials with regular reporting
    Work with the management team to assess and implement new offerings
    Drive the planning and execution of events
    Marketing of the Siren Bar through social media channels
    Management of fresh food kitchen and team
    Driving Sales on a daily basis and influence local marketing projects
    Maintain labour and gross margin spending budgets on a weekly basis

  • Head Chef - George & Dragon Pub

    Are you wanting a role which has menu autonomy and creativity over the menu?

    We are looking for an individual who shares the same passion for food that we do for beer. This role isn’t an ordinary head chef position – we are looking for a creatively minded individual, with proven leadership skills and an ambition to drive the business forward.

    The salary will be made up from a base salary and tronc payments paid on a monthly basis.

    Main responsibilities

    Creation of food menu
    Working with local suppliers for seasonal specials
    Recruitment and Development of kitchen team
    Labour analysis and control for BOH spending
    Implementation of weekly/biweekly stock takes
    Experience of recipe building and costing
    Compliance with food safety, labour, and employment laws
    Carry out monthly 1-2-1's with team
    About you

    Demonstrate 2+ years at head chef level (fresh food kitchen preferred)
    Outstanding attention to detail
    Ability to create, drive and improve food standards
    Positive attitude towards every service
    Experience in kitchen team development and coaching
    High standards of food hygiene
    Ability to adapt to the constant challenges of hospitality
    High level of professionalism

  • Tap Room / Retail Assistant

    Siren Craft Brew was born in 2013 with a simple idea in mind: to introduce exciting, full-flavoured and forward-thinking beers to as many people as possible. As part of that mission, we offer our beer as fresh as possible - direct from the source through our on-site tasting room and web shop.

    We are on the lookout for people with a friendly, proactive attitude and a passion for customer experience to join our small, committed team in delivering the highest possible standards of service to our beer-loving community. This area of the business is agile and responsibilities varied.

    Main duties will include:
    • Serving and assisting customers (on and off sales)
    • Educating customers about our beer and philosophy
    • Assisting with festivals and other events where and when possible
    • Preparing web orders and customer collections

    You will need to:
    • Effectively communicate with customers and co-workers
    • Be flexible (available shifts could vary and the Tap Yard opens on Saturdays)
    • Take pride in your work with great attention to detail
    • Experience is preferred but more important is the willingness to learn and genuine enthusiasm for hospitality, community, craft beer or a combination.

    We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Junior Assistant Manager to join our team, focusing on delivering exceptional hospitality and enhancing the overall guest experience. This entry-level leadership role is ideal for individuals with a passion for customer service and attention to detail.


    You will assist in the daily operations of the venue, support the management team, and act as a key point of contact for guests and staff.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Providing top level customer service and engagement with guests,
    • Greet and interact with guests to ensure a welcoming, personalized, and memorable experience.
    • Resolve guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating when necessary.
    • Assist in staff supervision, including shift preparation, and team motivation and in-house incentives.
    • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, presentation, and ambiance throughout guest areas.
    • Collaborate with the kitchen, marketing team and other Front Of House Managers to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of services, offerings, and promotions to make appropriate recommendations to guests.
    • Assist with training new staff on hospitality standards and service protocols whilst also continually improving existing standards to be the best operator in the area.
    • Monitor and report guest feedback to help shape ongoing service improvements. (NPS and Google)
    • Aiding in day-to-day running of the venue, taking a lead on shifts in the absence of Senior Management.
    • The Junior Assistant Manager role does not involve remote working but there is an element which requires you to be able to pick up the phone in an emergency outside the usual work hours.
