July Newsletter

Four things you might have missed, and a few extra to look forward too - read our June round-up below!

1. Lumina 5th Anniversary

Last month, we celebrated the five-year anniversary of our shining light and best selling IPA, Lumina. From humble origins during Covid, this small can has broken boundaries and leads the way as one of the UK’s most inclusive and accessible craft ales - being both vegan and gluten free.

While we can’t host a brewery party for every monumental occasion, we made sure that Lumina was thoroughly celebrated through new merchandise, venue visibility, webshop offers and more. If you placed an online order with us recently, or ordered a pint of Lumina through select venues, you may have found yourself in possession of a Lumina scratch card - with five top prizes of Free Beer For A Year to be won! If you’ve not scratched your card yet, don’t hang around…

In June, we were thrilled to see the highest volume of web orders for Lumina in the last 12 months - it’s hard to picture that many fridges packed full of this fantastic Session IPA!

In the words of founder, Darron, “In just five years, it's built up such a great following, such a loyal following, and it's that beer that we always wanted it to be”.

We’ve even had Lumina hosted in Fuller’s sites across the country since the beginning. “A gluten free beer that combines great branding and history with a fantastic beer is right in our customers' sweet spot from a taste perspective - Fuller’s Marketing Manager, Ed Fryer

Thank you all for choosing to drink Lumina, and for helping us to celebrate a half decade of this incredible beer. Here’s to the next five!

2. New Release Roundup

June was a fantastic month for new beers, and there was something for everyone in the mix! From our massive P.O.G. sour, Slammer, to the modern west coast IPA, Jaggy Snake, we’ve got a host of fresh styles available online now. Here’s a run down of some of the beers you might have missed…

Siren Pils | 4.8% Gluten Free Modern Lager
Back online in a fresh batch! A crisp and refreshing modern pilsner, enlivened by bright citrus notes and the fresh, floral aroma of sun-kissed Bavarian hops—sourced straight from the fields.

Jaggy Snake | 7% Modern West Coast IPA
This bold, punchy IPA delivers a sensory rush of bright citrus, sticky mango, and sweet stone fruit — all wrapped in crisp bitterness and the satisfying cling of resinous hops.

Slammer | 6% Massive P.O.G. Sour
We've loaded in over a tonne of Passionfruit, Orange & Guava to create a viscous, intensely flavoured, and smoothly sour sensation.

Beneath The Waves | 4.6% Pacific Pale Ale
This hazy pale showcases exceptional hops of Australia and New Zealand, our hazy pale ale is built upon a creamy foundation of oats and wheat.

Recurring Dream | 4.6% Nitro Breakfast Stout
Recurring Dream is a very special, session strength edition of our Flagship Breakfast Stout, Broken Dream. It features the same indulgence of chocolate flavours and speciality malts, along with the creaminess of lactose for balance and mouthfeel.

Suspended In Nelson | 4% Hazy Pale Ale
A rare chance to enjoy 'Suspended in...' at home, as it's usually all reserved for your local pub! This time we're celebrating the most iconic of the New Zealand hops - Nelson Sauvin.

Pachanga | 5.5% Mexican Lager
A Mexican lager, authentically made with corn in the grist. These beers are designed to be absolutely crushed in summer. A decent amount of lime freshens up the tortilla-like base beer, with salt helping balance and mouthfeel.

Paloma Gose | 5% Grapefruit & Lime Sour
Inspired by the tart Paloma cocktail, our recreation is incredibly refreshing and a treat for the tastebuds. Pouring in the trademark peachy pink hue, we take you on a journey of fresh grapefruit and lime, all lifted by a sprinkling of sea salt.

Playlist | 6% Hazy IPA
Playlist is a smooth, juicy beer which pours strikingly creamy and opaque. We brewed it with a mixtape of flavourful American hops - expect satisfying notes of mango, citrus and candied fruits, perfectly wrapped within a soft, silky mouthfeel.

Last, but by no means least, our brewery Tap Yard has continued to provide the usual family friendly atmosphere that we’re known so well for. We’ve just recently updated the pizza menu, now almost unrecognisable from what it used to be, to feature new and improved pizzas, and more of them, alongside sharing options and a cheeseboard featuring local Village Maid cheeses (you may know their Soundwave washed ‘Maida Vale’ soft cheese). We’ve even got a Village Maid cheese pizza on the menu!

Alongside this, don’t miss some excellent upcoming events down at the Tap Yard. Click below to take a look at what’s coming up soon.

4. Recent Events

Once again, we were back to pour at Endure24 Reading and Leeds for - a relay race unlike any other where runners have 24 hours to rack up as many laps of the stunning 8km trail course in Wasing Park as possible. We took Siren Pils along too - the biggest event that we’d taken the new flagship lager to after its launch!

The best Pils I’ve ever had, kept us going to cheer for 24hrs and the loveliest staff who served it!- Katy, at Endure24 Reading

Love the gluten free range already and great to have more delicious options!” - Henry, Endure24 Reading

Click here to find out more about Endure, and maybe we’ll see you there next year!

Other events we attended included Nottingham Craft Brew Festival, Taste of London, and Leeds Craft Brew Festival. Plenty more events coming soon, including a follow-up to our 2022 ‘Time Hops’ celebration, to be hosted at our Brewery Tap Yard in September. More news on this to come soon, which leads us into...

Three Things to Look Forward to!

Here are three exciting upcoming happenings around the brewery that you won’t want to miss - stay tuned and ensure you’re signed up to our mailing list newsletters to be among the first to find out more!

1. Soundwave Specials

This month, we’ll be releasing not one, but TWO Soundwave specials in collaboration with two big brewery friends of Siren. ‘Pale Fire’ Soundwave is a mash-up of our classic flagship IPA and Pressure Drop’s Pale Fire, and ‘Neal Gets Soundwave’ takes Verdant’s Neal Gets Things Done and gives it the Siren treatment. More news to come very soon, and we’re incredibly excited for you to try these beers.

2. Calypso is back for the summer!

As part of our seasonal specials range, our dry-hopped sour Calypso is making a limited return in 440ml cans. This edition features Simcoe hops - a classic choice for Calypso - and will be available online from the 16th July (or a couple days earlier if you’re in our mailing list). Calypso was one of the UK's first modern sour beers, known for its sharp, spritzy and mouth-puckering sensation. If you’re a fan of sour beer, this is a must.

3. London Craft Beer Festival

We're heading back to London Craft Beer Festival once again between the 18th and 19th July with our 8-tap big bar in tow (with all the latest and greatest beers pouring!). This is always one of the highlights of our summer season, and we're even taking with us the last two kegs of Even More Jesus XII - once it's gone, it's gone!

The event is hosted by We Are Beer, who just recently awarded the accolade of 'Top 50 beers in the UK' to our Session IPA, Lumina.

Click here to get your tickets today, and we'll see you there!
