A Guide to Siren Flagship Beers

What is a flagship beer for Siren?

Originally inspired by the Sirens of Greek mythology, our flagship range is made up of four core beers, permanently available year-round; Soundwave IPA, Broken Dream Breakfast Stout, Lumina Session IPA, and, new for 2025, Siren Pils Modern Lager. These are our best-selling beers, the ones that you keep coming back to time and time again.

Why flagship beer?

At Siren, we love to experiment and play with new styles and off-shoots of craft beer. That being said, we know that many drinkers love to keep the fridge stocked with reliable beers that they know and love (with the same story being true for pub visits across the country). Our flagship range is designed to do just that, offering consistently high standards and ensuring that you always know what you'll be drinking.

Through these beers, we get to test more, learn more, and ultimately bring you better beer than ever before. It's a process that has led many Siren beers on their own evolutions - lately, and most notably, through Siren Pils - our new modern lager that has been perfected thanks to years of testing and trials with its predecessor, Pastel Pils.

Soundwave IPA

One of our original Sirens, Soundwave has been pouring for just over twelve years now. If we had to pick one beer to best represent our brewery, this would be it - tropical hop heaven, full of flavour and with a subtle bitterness. Our flagship IPA is full of big-hitting American hops with an abundance of fruit notes and tropical aromas. Soundwave has gone on to inspire countless special editions - Tidal Wave, Soundwave Sessions, and more recently Superdelic Soundwave and our low ABV Soundwave 0.5.

Broken Dream Breakfast Stout

Winning the title of Supreme Champion Beer of Britain by CAMRA in 2018, Broken Dream is an indulgence of coffee, chocolate and speciality malts. Since 2023, Broken Dream has been exclusively dosed with nitrogen in cans, producing a smooth and unctuous pour. Similar to Soundwave, Broken Dream has been treated to a variety of special editions over the years - from the amped-up ‘Shattered Dream’ to sessionable ‘Recurring Dream’ (keep your eyes peeled for that coming soon…)

Lumina Session IPA

While Lumina only came into being during lockdown in 2020, it quickly scaled the ranks to become our best-selling beer. Originally released under the name of Refractions in 2019, Lumina is both vegan and gluten free, making it an accessible and highly drinkable beer, brewed for all. Siren Pils Modern Lager

Finally, we have the brand-new Siren Pils - a gluten free lager built on years of refinement, dialling in our processes to ferment and condition as cold as possible, keeping the lager clean and refreshing with beautifully distinct flavour. Blast from the past

Past beers that formed cornerstones of our flagship line-up included Liquid Mistress Red IPA, Undercurrent Pale Ale, and Calypso Kettle Sour. Liquid Mistress and Calypso will be returning as seasonal specials in the Summer and Autumn, and we’re pleased to have found them a home in this seasonal special line-up.

Suspended in… Series

While technically not a part of our flagship line-up, a special mention must be made for our rotational series of hazy pale ales - the ‘Suspended in…’ series. Usually reserved for your local pubs, we use the same base recipe for this pale ale, but change up the hops each time. These are available in keg and cask, and can be found in all good craft beer bars! We even pack this beer in can format every so often… keep an eye out for Suspended in Nelson cans coming to the webshop very soon.

Venue availability

One of the best things about our flagship range, is you’ll always find them on tap in our Finchampstead based Tap Room and city centre Reading bar. Alongside these sites, you’ll find them pouring up and down the country in various locations - from bottle shops to pubs and specialist venues. Naturally, they’re always available online too, with discounts available when you buy in multipack forms.
